Community Support Worker

Justice Case Worker

Salary: £28,755 Pro Rata Location: Birmingham Contract: Permanent Full-Time

Rebuilding your life after a custodial sentence is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. But with the right support, it’s possible. We’re looking for a dedicated Case Worker to join our team at the Community Hub—someone with a rare mix of compassion, resilience, organisation, and flexibility. This is for the person who understands that rehabilitation isn’t just about offering advice—it’s about rolling up your sleeves and proactively supporting individuals on their journey.

About the Role

In this Justice Case Worker role, you’ll work at the Ingeus Community Hub, providing one-to-one support to a caseload of participants as they reintegrate into society. Your focus will include:

  • Helping individuals overcome barriers to employment or training
  • Building their confidence and encouraging progress
  • Supporting them in making meaningful strides toward rehabilitation

This is a demanding yet deeply rewarding role. You’ll work in a challenging environment, supporting individuals with complex needs—many of whom may initially be hesitant to engage. However, the impact of helping someone break the cycle of reoffending or transform their life is profoundly fulfilling.

Responsibilities

As a Justice Case Worker, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Relationship Building: Foster genuine, trusting, and non-judgemental relationships with participants to create a safe space for personal growth.
  • Signposting: Refer participants to Ingeus’ services and external support providers to ensure a coordinated rehabilitation pathway.
  • Action Planning: Develop personalized action plans, identifying an individual’s key needs, barriers, and progress milestones.
  • Caseload Management: Balance the needs of multiple participants, ensuring all interactions are recorded and progress is tracked robustly through administrative duties.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
