Community Support Worker | West Lancs District Adult Disability Domiciliary Service | Part time

Community Support Worker – Permanent, Part-Time (20 Hours Per Week)

Salary: £25,949 - £25,989 per annum | Pro Rata ∙ 33% increment at weekends ∙ 50% increment for Bank Holidays & Sleep-In allowance

Location: Not open to international sponsorship


About The Role

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people with a disability? We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible individuals who enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they desire.

The service provides 24/7 support to individuals with learning disabilities in their own homes, including sleep-in duties and weekend work. The Community Support Worker role involves:

  • Providing a full range of daily personal and health supports
  • Assisting with accessing community activities (e.g., swimming, shopping, dancing)
  • Managing finance, medication, and health outcomes
  • Operate with a person-centred approach, ensuring dignity and respect

Key Accountabilities

  • Use person-centred approaches to enable positive outcomes aligned with support plans for individuals with learning disabilities, including those with profound and complex needs.
  • Provide dignified, respectful support for daily needs, including personal care and health safety.
  • Help individuals access community opportunities (e.g., social, physical, and recreational activities).
  • Comply with national legislation, sector policies, and service guidelines at all times.

Skills & Experience

Experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential—comprehensive training will be provided within the first year.

  • Entry-level applicants without NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) must complete the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within two years (funded by the service).
