Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused HGV Driver to join our logistics team. This is an opportunity to play a vital role in delivering essential construction materials across the UK while representing one of the industry's most respected brands. About the Role
As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional transportation of Heidelberg Materials products to customers. You will ensure deliveries are completed on time while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, vehicle compliance, environmental responsibility, and customer service. You will operate specialist vehicles including walking floor, rolling floor, tipper, and concrete mixer vehicles, supporting customer operations across multiple locations. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work within a business where safety is always the number one priority.
What You'll Be Doing
- Safe & Professional Deliveries
- Deliver products safely, efficiently, and courteously to customers.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed in line with customer requirements and company standards.
- Represent Heidelberg Materials professionally at all times.
- Vehicle & Equipment Management
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and inspections.
- Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean, roadworthy condition.
- Accurately complete all vehicle records and documentation.
- Report defects and operational issues promptly.
- Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to Road Transport Law, Working Time Directive regulations, and Health & Safety legislation.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Ensure environmental standards relating to waste disposal, dust emissions, and water discharge are met.
- Maintain a proactive approach to safety and risk management.
- Flexibility & Customer Support
- Operate a range of specialist vehicles as required.
- Support customer demand through flexible working patterns.
- Be willing to work away from home and undertake overnight stays when required.
- Participate in additional training and customer-specific accreditations.

What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Clean Category C+E (Class 1) HGV Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC (DCPC) Card.
- Valid EPIC/MPQC Card.
- GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Road Transport Law
- Working Time Directive
- Health & Safety legislation
- Environmental regulations
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach.
- Physically fit and capable of working in operational environments.
You'll Stand Out If You Have
- Experience operating walking floor, rolling floor, tipper, or concrete mixer vehicles.
- Experience working within aggregates, concrete, construction, waste, or heavy industry sectors.
- A proven commitment to safe working practices.
- Experience working across multiple sites or customer locations.
