This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded specialist governance and company secretarial consultancy. The business has experienced consistent growth and works with an impressive client base including private equity-backed businesses, technology companies and life sciences organisations.

Your new role

You will provide outsourced company secretarial and governance support to a varied portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted advisor on compliance and corporate governance matters. You will work alongside experienced specialists and support clients ranging from growing businesses to well-known corporate organisations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing company secretarial advice and services to a portfolio of clients.
  • Acting as a key point of contact and developing strong client relationships.
  • Advising on Companies Act 2006 compliance and corporate governance requirements.
  • Drafting company secretarial documentation and board/shareholder resolutions.
  • Managing compliance projects, statutory books and governance reviews.
  • Supporting corporate transactions including M&A activity, equity fundraising and other strategic projects.
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing, process improvements and service development initiatives.
  • Supporting business development activities and maintaining relationships with law firm referrers and clients.

More experienced candidates will have the opportunity to lead complex client matters, supervise junior team members and contribute to internal training and mentoring programmes.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous company secretarial experience gained within a law firm, professional services environment, specialist company secretarial provider or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of company secretarial compliance and corporate governance requirements.
  • Experience advising on Companies Act 2006 obligations.
  • Excellent drafting, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
  • Experience using Diligent or similar company secretarial software would be advantageous.
  • CGI qualifications or an interest in studying towards professional qualifications would be welcomed.
  • Candidates with a corporate legal background and a genuine interest in developing a specialist governance career are also encouraged to apply.
