At Nottingham Building Society our talent acquisition approach is rooted in openness and inclusive hiring, so even if you don’t feel you tick every box, we’d still genuinely love to hear from you.

Are you a law graduate, governance professional, or ambitious early-career candidate looking to build a career at the heart of corporate decision-making?

We're seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Company Secretariat Associate to join our Governance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to Executive Committees, Board governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic business operations within a highly regulated environment.

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, supporting the Society Secretary function and helping to ensure the smooth running of Board and Executive governance processes. Whether you're a recent law graduate or have gained experience in an office, governance, legal, compliance, or regulatory environment, this role offers an excellent foundation for a long-term career in governance, company secretarial practice, or corporate law.

If you're naturally curious, thrive on organisation, enjoy working with confidential information, and want to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes of a successful organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as a Company Secretariat Associate, at Nottingham Building Society:

  • Committee & Meeting Support – Prepare, coordinate and distribute agendas, papers, minutes and supporting documentation for Executive and governance committees, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Corporate Governance Administration – Support the delivery of an effective governance framework by maintaining governance processes, policies, procedures and delegated authorities.
  • Statutory Records & Regulatory Compliance – Maintain statutory registers and governance records while supporting submissions to regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance obligations are met.
  • Action Tracking & Follow-Up – Monitor actions arising from committee meetings, liaise with stakeholders and provide updates to ensure timely completion.
  • AGM Planning & Coordination – Assist with the preparation and delivery of the Annual General Meeting, including documentation, logistics and member communications.
  • Governance Research & Continuous Improvement – Research governance best practice, identify opportunities for enhancement and support governance-related projects and initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management – Build strong working relationships with colleagues, senior leaders, external advisers, auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Insurance, Risk & Operational Support – Assist with corporate insurance administration, risk reporting, compliance activities and contribute to a culture of operational excellence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
