Role Description Working closely with Excomm, Finance and the People Team, the Compensation & Benefits Manager will lead Low Carbon’s total rewards strategy, compensation, benefits, and long-term incentives, so that pay and benefits are fair, competitive, compliant, and tightly aligned to business performance and culture. The ideal candidate will partner with the Remuneration Committee to help design frameworks that motivate delivery while meeting governance standards and external expectations. This is a hands-on role, where you will demonstrate tight control of predetermined, repetitive and evolving payment schedules. You will need a passion for accuracy, data and have financial modelling expertise, in a role that straddles Finance and HR workstreams. You will be the go-to person for all Reward queries and must therefore have gravitas and the ability to challenge senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop our Global compensation provision across multiple geographies and jurisdictions including the UK, Germany and Poland Lead the execution of all compensation activities Own compensation philosophy, frameworks, pay-band architecture and design salary review methodology Internal audit, risk management, EU pay transparency and compensation controls Manage bonus schemes; govern management incentive plans and compliance Manage benefit programs, including design, administration, and vendor relationships, ensuring offerings are competitive and compliant Manage end-to-end payroll processes across the UK, international jurisdictions, and Employer of Record arrangements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery Oversee payroll governance; own reward systems and data integrity Own the compensation forecasting process, including working with finance on reconciliation of forecast versions and detailed variance analysis versus actuals Define market-aligned base pay frameworks; partner with Finance to model cost impacts and forecast reward budgets Key liaison with finance, legal and tax teams Responsibility for ensuring pay equity and supporting DEI objectives in reward frameworks Respond to regular ad hoc data requests from Finance, the leadership team and the Board Communication strategy for Reward Skills & Experience Significant experience with Total Rewards/Compensation & Benefits, including ownership and administration of bonus and long-term incentive plans Excellent stakeholder management and ability to present complex data clearly to senior leadership and the Board Financial acumen Experience managing payroll process, including working with third party providers Governance interface with RemCo and board-level stakeholders Understanding of Reward frameworks including Management Incentives Plans, performance-based bonuses and LTIPs Ability to interpret market trends and provide strategic recommendations Experience in building compensation models for growth-stage businesses Highly numerate, able to create and analyse reward and people data Process driven, meticulous about data and very high attention to detail International compensation knowledge (Germany & Poland) desirable Our Compensation & Benefits 26 days holiday plus your birthday off (with option to buy a further 5 days) Discretionary Bonus Bupa Health Check & Private Healthcare for you and your family (medical history disregarded) Contributory Pension Cycle scheme Season Ticket Loan Pluxee for commercial discounts and perks 3 additional days for volunteering to support causes of your choice
