Role: Competent Statutory Inspector

Currently, we are seeking a Competent Statutory Inspector to join our Topside Division.
Location
United Kingdom (Hybrid/Offshore).
Core Purpose
This role is responsible for:
- The safe implementation of OEG Renewables policies and procedures across offshore wind projects, primarily in the UK and Europe.
- Assisting the Team Lead in planning, mobilising, executing, and demobilising statutory inspection work scopes.
- Maintaining personal performance in line with industry, client, project, and company requirements.
- Supporting the design and implementation of engineering solutions for statutory inspection projects.
- Utilising company software to monitor and track company/client assets, creating thorough inspection reports.
- Working in small teams of 2-5 to deliver statutory inspections of on and offshore client assets.
This position is primarily offshore-based (with the option to live onshore with daily transit offshore).
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Administration
- Stay updated on new or amended processes, procedures, and regulatory changes impacting the role, while seeking clarification to ensure compliance with instructions.
- Ensure internal communications are read, understood, and followed—seeking clarification where necessary.
- Attend meetings as directed by management, including:
- One-to-ones
- Performance reviews
- Training and coaching sessions
- Protect client and company data as part of role responsibilities.
- Guard company property assigned for use.
- Support departmental initiatives to meet annual targets and objectives.

Inspection Work
- Conduct thorough examinations in line with:
- LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations)
- PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations)
- TMSE inspections (Technical Management Safety Equipment)
- Fire Extinguisher Inspections
- Loose Lifting Equipment Inspections
- Hydraulic Systems (Pressure Relief Valves & accumulators)
- Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) nacelle crane inspections and load testing (hoists & hydraulic cranes, e.g., HIAB)
- Davit Crane Inspections and Load Testing (using water weights)
- Man-Riding Lifts
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Review project reports daily to ensure:
- Correct certifications are issued.
- Reports are completed accurately and in full.
- Log all process nonconformities in MY Compliance.
- Conduct annual document reviews.
- Contribute to the improvement of OEG Renewables' quality system and standards.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
- Carry out LOLER/PUWER inspections on company equipment.
- Conduct pre- and post-project equipment inspections, documenting deficiencies and damages:
- Perform root cause analysis where applicable.
Skills and Experience
Essential Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar inspection role.
- Statutory Inspection experience.
- Training/qualifications in:
- Davit Crane Inspection, Maintenance & Load Testing (waterbag method for models like:
- Palfinger
- Seasight
- Noreq Acta
- Granada)
- WTG Nacelle Crane inspections for models such as:
- Demag DS10
- HIAB V2/V4 and PCWM3300
- HMF
- WTG Service Lift Inspections (e.g., Avanti X/XL, Skyman TH250, Goracon).
- Davit Crane Inspection, Maintenance & Load Testing (waterbag method for models like:
- Proven communication skills.
- Strong IT proficiency, including:
- Microsoft Office
- Reporting software
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of:
- LOLER/PUWER/PSSR regulations
- Fire Safety Regulations
- Calibration requirements
- COSSH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
- Relevant crane/service lift certifications or hands-on experience.

- PSSR Inspection
- OGUK Medical
- Wind Turbine Safety Rules Training
