Support Worker – Complex Mental Health & Eating Disorders

We are recruiting experienced Support Workers to provide 2:1, 24-hour care for an individual with very complex mental health needs, including:
- Eating disorders
- High-risk self-harm behaviours (including ligaturing)
- Emotional dysregulation
- Potential requirement for physical intervention/restraint in line with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Shift patterns are 12 hours shifts, both day and night and you will be expected to work every other weekend, nights are optional. Both part and full-time contracts available.
Package
- Pay: £13.55 per hour (weekdays) | £13.70 per hour (weekends)
- Included: Holiday pay, sick pay, pension & mileage (30p per mile)
- Leave: 28 days annual leave
- Pay cycle: Monthly pay with annual reviews each April
- Hours: Guaranteed contracted hours

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, person-centred, trauma-informed support at all times
- Maintain constant observation and risk management where required
- Support with meal plans, routines, emotional regulation, and daily living
- Respond appropriately to incidents of self-harm or escalating behaviour
- Use de-escalation strategies and approved physical interventions
- Complete accurate documentation, incident reports, and handovers
- Work closely with clinical teams, family members, and commissioners
Essential Experience

- Previous experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs
- Direct experience with eating disorders and/or high-risk self-harm
- Confident working within PBS frameworks
- Willingness and ability to xlqdzyr undertake physical intervention training
- Strong emotional resilience and professional boundaries
You will need to be able to attend three days of training if successful, which is scheduled for the end of January, so this role commences at the beginning of February.
Experience in 2:1 or 1:1 intensive support packages and/or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care would be desirable
