Complex Care Assistant – Barrow-In-Furness
Join Alcedo Care in Barrow-In-Furness as part of our Complex Care Assistant team.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting our service users to maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life through compassionate, person-centred care and companionship. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing support in clients' own homes
- Assisting access to the community
- Offering clinical tasks and personalised care
By joining our experienced and dedicated team, you will receive comprehensive training to ensure confidence and competence in delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred support to individuals with complex health needs, including:
- Spinal injuries
- Respiratory conditions
- Neurological disorders
- Assist with clinical tasks, such as:
- Manual cough assist
- Digital bowel stimulation
- Postural and spinal support
- PEG care
- Tracheostomy care
- Provide ongoing assistance with:
- Continence care
- medications
- mobility support
- meal preparation
- household tasks
- Promote independence, while fostering joy and companionship
- Work within various service users’ homes, as required

Location & Working Pattern
- Area: Barrow-In-Furness
- Shift Pattern: 7am – 7pm
- Weekday Rate: £14 per hour (Monday to Friday)
- Weekend Rate: £14.50 per hour (Saturday & Sunday)
- Driving is not essential for this role.
Person Specifications & Requirements
- At least 6 months’ hands-on care experience in a UK care setting (essential).
- Aged 18 or over (due to unsupervised work with vulnerable individuals).
- Passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives.
- Compassionate, caring nature, with a desire to support individuals in their own homes.
- Subject to:
- Enhanced DBS check
- Satisfactory references
