Description

Complex Injury Assistant Lawyer – Associate

Location: London, Southampton, Leeds or Bolton

Are you an experienced legal professional looking to build your career within complex injury work? This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, collaborative team where you’ll work on high-value, multi-track and catastrophic injury claims, while continuing to develop your technical expertise and confidence.

You’ll work closely with a Lead Lawyer on a varied caseload involving employers’ liability, public liability and motor claims for public sector and corporate clients. The role will give you exposure to complex issues including liability, coverage, indemnity, quantum, causation and fundamental dishonesty.

The Role

As a Complex Injury Assistant Lawyer, you’ll be part of the Complex Injury Claims Team, helping to progress files from the initial receipt of papers through to resolution. You’ll support on cases involving serious and catastrophic injuries, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and fatal claims.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be trusted to analyse evidence, prepare advice, communicate with insurer clients and help move claims forward. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend conferences, mediations, settlement meetings and court hearings, both remotely and in person.

Why Join Us?

  • You’ll be joining a growing and supportive team where your work will be supervised and feedback will be provided to help you continue developing.
  • You’ll have the chance to work closely with experienced lawyers, senior claims handlers and long-standing insurance clients, gaining exposure to high-quality complex injury work.
  • There may also be opportunities to support activities that help enhance and develop Keoghs’ profile.

We anticipate this role will be appointed up to Associate level; however, this will ultimately depend on the successful candidate’s experience. We welcome applications from individuals across a range of experience levels, and the appropriate level will be discussed during the application and interview process.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
