Job Description: Credit Hire Motor Claims Handler
We are seeking a Credit Hire motor claims handler with a wide-ranging skill set and experience of managing credit hire claims, third-party property damage claims, and may also include some low-value bodily injury claims handling (latter is optional).
The candidate will actively support the department in providing a customer-focused, cost-efficient claims handling service by a proactive approach to claims handling that puts customer service as the core value whilst operating within a regulatory framework.
The role will be client-facing and in addition to coverage, legal liability, and quantum analysis, will require interaction with brokers, insureds, external providers, and internal stakeholders.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Manage a portfolio of credit hire claims of most complexity and value
- Managing claim enquiries, coverage determination, quantum analysis, and legal liability assessment, providing a strong standard of customer service
- Ensuring effective vendor and litigation management on motor claims within your allocation
- Timely, accurate, and customer-focused claim resolution
- Effective communication on specific and broader motor claims to internal stakeholders and external stakeholders
- Contribute to ensuring the Department’s Key Performance Targets are met and that own objectives are achieved
- Promote compliance with best practice for all aspects of claims assessment/handling and actively promote and demonstrate principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)
- Proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims on a consistent basis in line with the company's internal requirements
- Work as part of a team and support colleagues so that overall team effectiveness is advanced
- Culture – Take personal responsibility for promoting a ‘can-do’ attitude and demonstrating a proactive claims handling service
- Foster good relationships with internal and external customers and drive excellent customer service

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in handling credit hire claims
- Good understanding of the end-to-end motor claims procedures
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written & verbal, in managing various stakeholders (customers, panel lawyers, brokers, etc.)
- Detailed working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment within which credit hire motor claims are handled
- Proven ability to make the right decisions on legal liability; damage assessment, and assessing the need for investigation or rehabilitation
- Strong policy language and interpretation skills for accurate indemnity decisions
- Self-motivated, proactive team member, while taking individual responsibility for an allocated case load
