Complex Needs Support Worker - SHAP (Salary: £25,029.28 - £25,861.56 per annum 37.5 hours per week, permanent)
Position: Support Worker – Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP)
BCHA are a charitable housing association supporting individuals and families across the South West and South of England. We are a major provider of a diverse range of housing, support and learning services for socially excluded people.
Make a real difference where it matters most.
We are proud to deliver our Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP)—a specialist service comprising ten self-contained one-bedroom properties. This service provides dedicated, person-centred support to single individuals and couples, including those with accessibility needs.
SHAP has been specifically designed to address critical gaps in homelessness provision, supporting:
- Individuals with long histories of rough sleeping or complex needs
- Young people aged 18–25 who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness
Our approach is rooted in trauma-informed care and Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE), ensuring every individual is supported with dignity, compassion, and understanding.
About The Role
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to move forward from homelessness and rebuild their lives. You will provide tailored, holistic support to help customers achieve independence, stability, and improved wellbeing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
