Complex Wound Specialist

Clinical Specialist – Advanced Wound Management (Sales)

Location: Yorkshire & Humber Region, Type: Full-Time, Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

This opportunity is for a field-based sales specialist in the wound care sector. Your clinical knowledge and passion for community care will directly influence patient outcomes across the Yorkshire and Humber region. As the go-to expert for complex wound management, you will:

  • Educate, empower, and support healthcare professionals in delivering safe, effective, and life-changing therapies.
  • Drive adoption of our Advanced Wound Management portfolio through clinical expertise and relationship-building.
  • Problem-solve in real-time, ensuring patients receive the right solutions when they need them.

This role is ideal for a clinical leader who thrives on collaboration, learning, and championing positive change.


Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Specialisation:

    • Become a trusted expert in advanced wound management, including Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT).
    • Advise healthcare professionals on diagnosis, treatment, and product selection for complex wounds.
    • Develop and deliver high-level clinical education to clinicians within the community setting.
  • Relationship Building & Territory Management:

    • Build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare stakeholders (doctors, nurses, providers).
    • Problem-solve in dynamic environments, addressing challenges to optimise patient care.
    • Advocate for Smith+Nephew solutions while fostering trust and confidence in your clinical guidance.

    • Design and deliver training programmes to upskill healthcare professionals in wound care.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered General Nurse or allied health professional with:
    • Minimum NHS clinical experience in wound care.
    • Certification or training in Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) or advanced wound management preferred.
  • Experience in community-based healthcare environments.

  • Clinical credibility: Able to deliver confident, evidence-based feedback to healthcare professionals.
  • Education & advocacy: Skill in clinical teaching for nurses and other allied professionals.
  • Relationship management: Ability to build trust across diverse healthcare settings.

  • Adaptability & curiosity: Enjoys learning new techniques and seeing measurable improvements in patient care.
