Complex Wound Specialist

Field-Based Sales Specialist: Advanced Wound Management

Yorkshire & Humber Region

Life. Unlimited.

At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.

This is your opportunity to step into a field-based sales role where your clinical credibility and passion for community care will genuinely shape patient outcomes. Covering the Yorkshire and Humber region, you will become the go-to expert for complex wound care, empowering healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and life-changing therapy.

About the Role

You will work at the heart of our Advanced Wound Management portfolio, driving decision-making and ensuring patients receive the right solutions at the right time. This role blends hands-on clinical support, relationship-building, and problem-solving, with daily influence on product use across your territory. Your expertise will directly support clinicians—strengthening trust, advocating for our therapies, and empowering confident, informed practice.

As our clinical specialist, you’ll pivot between education, advocacy, and hands-on guidance, ensuring our products drive positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a go-to expert for complex wound care and Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) in the Yorkshire & Humber region.
  • Build and nurture relationships with community-based healthcare professionals (HCP), including district nurses, practice nurses, and wound specialists.
  • Deliver high-quality clinical education, fostering informed decision-making among decision-makers.
  • Troubleshoot clinical challenges, offering tailored solutions to improve patient pathology management.
  • Advocate for our therapies and technologies, ensuring HCPs feel confident and supported in their practice.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine offerings and execute skill development programmes regionally.
  • Monitor territory performance, using insights to drive product adoption, compliance, and clinical satisfaction.
  • Reflect company values externally, positioning Smith+Nephew as a leader in evidence-based wound care solutions.

Requirements

Clinical Expertise & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) or allied health professional with a background in wound care, NPWT, or advanced therapy.
  • NHS clinical practice experience—preferably in community care, primary care, or hospital settings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of wound healing principles, NPWT techniques, and current Better Wound Care guidelines.
  • Experience navigating prescription/acquisition pathways in NHS settings a traditional plus.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
