Role summary

This is a broad, hands-on compliance role focused on day-to-day execution and support across monitoring, complaints, policy documentation, regulatory reporting, training, and compliance administration. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment and wants to build strong practical experience across a wide range of compliance activities.

You will work closely with the Head of Risk & Compliance, and support the wider business across Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Operations teams. The role will help ensure that compliance controls are implemented effectively, issues are tracked and remediated, and the business has clear compliance support as it grows.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked in a fintech startup or a similarly fast-paced environment within a regulated industry.

What you'll do

You will support the day-to-day delivery of the UK compliance framework, with a focus on practical execution, accurate record-keeping, and supporting good customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of the compliance monitoring programme, including file reviews, QA checks, and thematic testing;
  • Documenting monitoring findings and helping track issues, actions, and remediation through to completion;
  • Managing and tracking complaints, supporting complaint investigations, and helping prepare complaint responses;
  • Making sure complaints data is accurately recorded and reported;
  • Identifying complaint trends, customer outcome issues, and potential conduct risks, escalating where appropriate;
  • Supporting the drafting and updating of policies, procedures, and compliance documentation;
  • Maintaining compliance records, trackers, and logs, including breaches, incidents, monitoring outcomes, and remediation actions;
  • Supporting product and project work by reviewing customer communications, product documentation, and process changes;
  • Working with Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Operations teams to help ensure compliance requirements and controls are applied effectively;
  • Supporting the preparation of compliance MI, governance reporting, and regulatory reporting where required;
  • Assisting with compliance training, including maintaining training materials, records, and completion tracking; and
  • Supporting audit, governance, and general compliance administration.

This role is focused on execution and support, rather than senior oversight or decision-making. You will work closely with the Head of Risk & Compliance to help implement controls, evidence monitoring and remediation activity, and support the wider business with practical compliance processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About us

Open is a global tech company on a mission to make it easy for everyone to get the most from their insurance. We launched in Australia in 2016, opened our London office in 2022, and our Manchester office this year, rebuilding one of the world's least digitally mature industries from the ground up.

We do this through three products that work together to put customers first, from start to finish. Open Embedded lets businesses offer insurance directly inside their own apps and websites – so customers can get covered without leaving the experience they're already in. Open Agentic uses AI safely and responsibly to guide customers through buying a policy, answering questions in plain English so they understand exactly what they're getting. Open Intel spots the moments when someone is most likely to need cover – like buying a car or moving house – and helps us reach them at the right time, in a helpful way.

We're a Certified B Corporation with a global team across the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

Diverse perspectives and lived experiences make us better at what we do – across disability, ethnicity, faith, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, and neurodiversity. If your CV doesn't tick every box, apply anyway. Let us know if you need any adjustments through the process, and we'll make it work.

Open is for builders – people who are intellectually curious, courageous, and reject the idea that “it can't be done.” If that sounds like you, apply, and let's build the future of insurance together.
