Compliance Associate
Building the Future of Open Finance
Payward – the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks – has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, designed to advance an open, global financial system.
Before you apply, we encourage you to explore our culture page to understand what drives us and how we work.
The Team
Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world’s longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products tailored for both individual investors and institutional clients.
Payward Limited (PWL) operates as the UK entity for Kraken’s crypto exchange, registered with the FCA as a cryptoasset business under the Money Laundering Regulations. As we continue to expand our UK regulatory presence, we’re seeking a Compliance Associate to join our UK Compliance team.
Reporting to the CCO, the Compliance Associate will play a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of the UK compliance function. This is a multi-disciplinary role spanning compliance monitoring, policy, risk management, and regulatory engagement, with significant opportunity for growth as the business scales.
The Opportunity
Compliance Monitoring and Testing
- Support delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP), including designing and executing second-line monitoring reviews across key regulatory obligations
- Document testing results clearly and present findings to relevant governance committees
- Track agreed remediation actions and follow up with first-line stakeholders to verify closure

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
