Contract: 6 months
Rate: circa £500pd OR £90,000 - £110,000 FTC
Location: London but some flexibility here, can be remote.
We're working with a high-growth UK financial services business to appoint a Senior Compliance Manager to lead its Second Line Assurance capability.
This is a key contract role, leading the design and delivery of a risk-based 2LOD assurance programme across Financial Crime, Conduct, Compliance and Operational Risk. You'll build an effective assurance framework, lead a small team and provide independent oversight to senior leadership, helping ensure risks are identified, understood and managed effectively.

The Role
- Lead the 2LOD Assurance programme across Financial Crime, Conduct, Compliance and Operational Risk.
- Deliver risk-based assurance reviews and compliance monitoring.
- Develop a data-led approach using MI and analytics to identify emerging risks.
- Produce clear, evidence-based reporting for senior governance forums.
- Challenge control effectiveness, validate remediation and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop the assurance team while embedding best practice.

About You
You'll have experience in 2LOD Assurance, Compliance Monitoring, Financial Crime, Operational Risk or Internal Audit within UK financial services, together with a strong understanding of FCA regulatory expectations and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders. Experience using data and MI to support assurance activity would be highly beneficial.
