About us
Wiper and True is a rapidly growing craft brewery producing high-quality beer. We pride ourselves on operational excellence, robust food-safety standards and a collaborative, frontline-led culture. This role is an operationally-focused compliance position based at our Bristol brewery, reporting to the Brewery Operations Director.
Role overview:
You will support the day-to-day running of health, safety and food-safety compliance across production, packaging and fulfilment. Working closely with the Brewery Operations Director and site teams, you'll assist with HACCP and Risk Assessment documentation, coordinate the internal audit programme, maintain SOPs and records, and help ensure compliance is embedded into everyday production activity. You'll play an active role in improving how we work — spotting risks, refining systems and helping build a stronger safety culture across the site.
Key responsibilities
- Food safety & Safety Management System support: Support Managers to maintain HACCP records, monitoring logs and Total Quality Management documentation in line with site procedures and certification requirements.
- Audit coordination: Coordinate the internal audit schedule, help prepare documentation packs for external audits (e.g. SALSA/BRC/M&S), track corrective actions and liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure resolution.
- SOPs & documentation control: Help create, update and circulate production SOPs, checklists and monitoring records; keep the document control system accurate and up to date.
- Training Administration: Maintain the training matrix, record completion and flag gaps to relevant stakeholders.
- Risk assessments & Incident recording: Support the completion and review of production risk assessments and COSHH assessments. Ensure incidents, near misses and product safety events are logged; assist with investigations and track corrective and preventive actions through to closure.
- H&S Meeting Admin & Reporting: Compile compliance KPI data for regular reports and meetings; take notes and track actions from H&S meetings.
- Housekeeping & site cleanliness: Carry out regular housekeeping checks across production and warehouse areas, recording findings and raising issues with the relevant team leader or Manager. Support a culture of clean-as-you-go by reinforcing housekeeping standards with frontline teams and helping to maintain a tidy, safe and audit-ready site at all times.
- Visitor compliance: Co-ordinate the site visitor process from a compliance perspective — maintaining visitor induction materials and PPE, ensuring briefings are completed and logged, and keeping visitor records up to date. Periodically review the induction content to reflect any changes to site rules, PPE requirements or emergency procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
