Compliance Engineer

Location: Cwmbran, Wales, United Kingdom | Hybrid | Full-time

EvolveTalent® is supporting a leading international engineering and technology company in the search for a Compliance Engineer to join their growing R&D team in Cwmbran, Wales. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative fire detection and life-safety products, ensuring compliance with internationally recognised standards and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in certification, verification, validation, and compliance activities, collaborating closely with engineering, testing, and external certification bodies. If you enjoy combining technical expertise with project coordination, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management, this could be an excellent next step in your career.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support compliance, verification, validation, and certification activities for new and existing products
  • Ensure products meet relevant British, European, and international standards
  • Coordinate certification projects with external test houses and notified bodies
  • Prepare technical documentation, certification applications, and compliance packages
  • Support product testing, audits, and certification reviews
  • Conduct compliance gap analyses and impact assessments
  • Collaborate with engineering, testing, quality, and project teams throughout the product lifecycle
  • Monitor changes in standards, directives, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance processes and methodologies

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience in compliance, verification, validation, certification, testing, or regulatory engineering
  • Experience working with technical standards, directives, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyse technical documentation and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience within fire safety, life-safety systems, electronics, industrial products, or regulated engineering environments
  • Experience working with third-party certification bodies and testing laboratories
  • Knowledge of British and European standards and directives
