Location: Preston, Lancashire
Salary: £Negotiable DOE
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:45 - 16:45 | Friday 08:45 - 15:45

Our client, a well-established recycling business, is looking to recruit a Compliance, Health & Safety Manager to oversee health, safety, compliance, and HR processes across three sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys a varied role combining compliance management, auditing, relationship building, and operational support. You will have the autonomy to identify improvements, implement changes, and work closely with teams across the business to maintain high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of Health & Safety across three sites, working closely with Operations Managers, Supervisors, and teams on the yard to ensure standards are maintained.
- Support operational teams in enforcing Health & Safety procedures and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Manage and maintain the company's ISO systems, including record keeping, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and manage ISO audits including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001.
- Liaise with suppliers, ensuring compliance documentation is maintained and following up where required.
- Complete reviews of risk assessments, method statements, and training requirements, supporting any changes to processes or working practices.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Manage HR administration processes including new starter documentation, inductions, payroll information, employee records, training records, and staff reviews.
- Support recruitment activity including advertising vacancies and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Keep up to date with changes to employment legislation and ensure company processes remain compliant.
- Provide oversight of absence management and support managers with HR-related queries.

Requirements:
- NEBOSH qualification is essential.
- Previous experience managing Health & Safety within an industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing ISO systems with a good understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 requirements.
- Previous involvement in supporting or managing ISO audits.
- Strong understanding of risk assessments, compliance, and Health & Safety legislation.
- A proactive approach with the ability to identify improvements and implement change.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with both management and operational teams.
- A hands-on approach with the confidence to work closely with teams on the yard and across the business.
- Experience supporting HR processes would be advantageous.

Package Details:
- Competitive salary (DOE)
- 08:45-16:45 Monday to Thursday / 08:45-15:45 Friday
- 22 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
