Compliance Manager – Bristol (Hybrid)
Neon Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Compliance Manager to join a Bristol-based insurance business on a full-time, permanent basis with hybrid working options.
This high-visibility role is ideal for a Compliance professional with strong FCA/PRA expertise, a pragmatic approach, and a passion for supporting a fast-growing organisation in the insurance or financial services sector.
The role offers scope to lead the compliance function, with potential progression into legal authority functions (SMF16 & SMF17) over time.

About the Role
The Compliance Manager will be a key partner in shaping, leading, and enhancing the company’s compliance framework while ensuring alignment with FCA/PRA expectations and facilitating strategic business growth.
This is a hands-on, influential role suited to someone who: ✔ Thrives in a fast-paced environment ✔ Shapes practical compliance solutions ✔ Builds strong cross-departmental relationships ✔ Develops long-term leadership in compliance authorisation functions
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the company’s UK-wide compliance framework
- Provide strategic regulatory guidance to senior leadership, Board and Executive teams
- Monitor and implement regulatory changes effectively across the business
- Develop and maintain compliance policies, controls and governance processes
- Align compliance with regulatory reporting, notifications and engagement
- Embed a strong compliance culture company-wide
- Collaborate closely with Risk, Legal and Auditing teams
- Progression path: Gain responsibility for SMF16 and SMF17 functions with support

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Requirements
This role is seeking a commercially-minded Compliance practitioner with:
- 5+ years’ compliance experience in general insurance or regulated financial services
- Deep knowledge of FCA/PRA frameworks with proven ability to apply them practically
- Direct experience of implementing FCA regulatory requirements in a business environment
- Experience with SMF16/SMF17 duties (deputising or prior responsibility advised)
- Pragmatic problem-solving skills—designing proportionate compliance solutions
- Excellent communication with confidence to engage across all levels of the business
- Highly self-motivated with ability to manage priorities independently
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset with sound professional judgement
