Compliance Advisory Manager (6 Month FTC)

Location: Hertfordshire (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £70k Pro Rata

We are partnering with a well-established and ambitious UK financial services organisation to appoint a Compliance Advisory Manager into its second line Compliance function.

This is a high-profile role offering significant exposure across the business, working closely with senior leadership to shape the firm's regulatory compliance framework and provide trusted advice on a wide range of regulatory matters.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the business remains ahead of regulatory developments while embedding a strong culture of compliance across the organisation.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Head of Compliance, you'll lead the firm's Compliance Advisory function, acting as the primary subject matter expert on regulatory requirements, policy governance and conduct risk.

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business, providing practical advice on existing operations, strategic projects and new initiatives, while ensuring the organisation remains compliant with evolving regulatory expectations.

  • Lead the Compliance Advisory function, providing practical regulatory guidance across the business.
  • Horizon scan for upcoming regulatory developments from the FCA, ICO and wider regulatory landscape, assessing business impact and implementation requirements.
  • Own and maintain the firm's regulatory change framework, including horizon scanning logs and regulatory updates.
  • Develop, review and enhance Compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on regulatory obligations, operational changes and new products.
  • Review and challenge business initiatives from a Compliance perspective, identifying and mitigating regulatory risks.
  • Support implementation of Consumer Duty requirements across the business.
  • Provide guidance and sign-off on Financial Promotions.
  • Act as the Compliance lead for Data Protection matters, including:
    • Privacy Impact Assessments
    • Subject Access Requests
    • Data Breach guidance
    • GDPR and ICO requirements
  • Maintain key Compliance registers including Conflicts of Interest, Gifts & Hospitality and Compliance query logs.
  • Support regulatory reporting and governance committee papers.
  • Produce meaningful Compliance Management Information (MI) for senior committees.
  • Deliver Compliance training and awareness programmes alongside Learning & Development.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, providing commercially focused Compliance advice and constructive challenge.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Compliance professional with strong advisory experience gained within UK Financial Services.

You'll ideally have experience across:

  • FCA Handbook (including SYSC, PRIN, COND and Consumer Duty)
  • Financial Promotions
  • Regulatory Change & Horizon Scanning
  • Compliance Policy Development
  • Conduct Risk
  • GDPR & UK Data Protection legislation
  • Stakeholder Management across senior business leaders
  • Second Line Compliance within banking, lending, payments, wealth management or wider regulated financial services

You'll be confident influencing senior stakeholders, balancing commercial objectives with regulatory requirements, and capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy.
