Compliance Manager – Specialist CIPP Rehabilitation Contractor
About the Role
Vortex, a specialist Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation contractor, is seeking an experienced and diligent Compliance Manager to join our growing operations team, supporting projects across the South of the UK.
This is a key role within the business. Working from our office, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our health & safety, quality, and environmental compliance frameworks, ensuring the company meets all relevant legal, regulatory and client accreditation requirements.
Working closely with operations, engineering, and site teams, you will play a critical role in embedding a strong compliance culture across the business, managing audits and accreditations, and supporting the safe and compliant delivery of trenchless rehabilitation and lining projects.
This position is office-based with regular liaison with site teams, external auditors, certification bodies, and clients to ensure compliance standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain company health & safety, quality, and environmental management systems
- Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other relevant accreditations
- Manage the internal and external audit programme, including preparation, coordination and close-out of findings
- Monitor and interpret changes in legislation, industry standards, and client requirements, updating policies and procedures accordingly
- Support the investigation of incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain accurate compliance records, documentation and certification within internal and client systems
- Provide guidance and training to site and office-based staff on compliance, health & safety, and quality requirements
- Liaise with certification bodies, regulators, and clients on compliance and accreditation matters
- Prepare compliance reports, KPIs, and management information for senior leadership
- Support tender and pre-qualification submissions with relevant compliance documentation
- Represent Vortex professionally in all compliance-related communications

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' proven experience in a Compliance, QHSE, or similar role within the drainage, utilities, or construction sector
- NEBOSH Diploma or IEMA qualification desirable
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems
- Experience managing external audits and accreditation renewals
- Confident in interpreting and applying health & safety, environmental, and quality legislation
- Experience working with or supporting operational teams in a live infrastructure environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and reporting
- Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders across a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IOSH or CQI) desirable
