Compliance Officer & Office Administrator
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Compliance Officer & Office Administrator to join our team. This dual-focused role sits at the heart of our operations, balancing rigorous regulatory safeguarding with the smooth, daily running of our office.
You will be responsible for executing essential candidate vetting (including DBS checks and background verifications) within the Health and Social Care sector, while simultaneously taking ownership of office maintenance and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance, Vetting & Quality Assurance
- Candidate Screening: Lead the end-to-end background verification process for candidates, including reference checks, right-to-work documentation, and qualification history.
- DBS Management: Initiate, track, and verify Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, ensuring total accuracy and regulatory alignment before placement.
- Framework Management: Monitor, review, and update internal compliance frameworks to ensure alignment with CQC guidelines and UK legislation.
- Auditing & Records: Maintain and audit precise compliance files, ensuring all digital and physical records are bulletproof and secure.
- Risk Mitigation: Investigate potential compliance anomalies, recommend swift corrective actions, and support risk mitigation efforts.

Office Administration & Facilities Maintenance
- Office Maintenance: Take ownership of the physical workspace. Ensure the office is clean, organised, safe, and fully functional on a daily basis.
- Stock & Facilities Management: Monitor and order office supplies, manage incoming/outgoing post, and act as the primary contact for building facilities or external vendors.
- Data & Privacy: Ensure all physical filing systems and digital records adhere strictly to GDPR and data protection laws.
- Team Support: Provide general administrative assistance to the management team, including scheduling meetings and onboarding internal staff.

Qualifications & Skills
- Legal/Compliance Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field (or equivalent proven professional experience in a compliance-heavy environment).
- Vetting Experience: Proven experience handling DBS checks, background verifications, and right-to-work compliance, ideally within the Health and Social Care or Recruitment sectors.
- Office Management Skills: Strong administrative capabilities with a hands-on approach to maintaining a tidy, efficient physical office space.
- Tech Literacy: High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workspace, and cloud-based document management systems.
- Attention to Detail: An uncompromising eye for detail—missing a document or a box unchecked isn't an option in this role.
- Logistics: Ability to work reliably on-site and effectively manage a schedule.
