LEVEL 6

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Compliance Officer to join our team, supporting operational compliance across the network.

This is a permanent, full-time role, Monday to Friday. The role is based across the East Midlands network, ideally along the East Coast, and involves regular travel across the East Midlands and wider network sites.

As a Compliance Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring operations are delivered safely and in line with regulatory, engineering, and technical standards. You’ll provide expert advice, carry out assurance activities, and help drive continuous improvement across the network.

This is a varied, field-based role where you’ll work closely with operational teams and stakeholders to influence safety performance and support a strong compliance culture.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carry out compliance & assurance activities

    • Conduct inspections to ensure work is delivered safely and in line with requirements
    • Monitor compliance with engineering, technical, and legislative standards
  • Provide expert guidance & support

    • Advise operational teams on compliance and safety best practice
    • Help embed consistent standards across the network
  • Monitor site activity & performance

    • Ensure adherence to safety management systems and policies
    • Promote a strong safety culture across teams

  • Support investigations & reporting
    • Assist with incident investigations and reporting
    • Ensure accurate data capture and analysis

What you’ll bring

You’ll be organized, analytical, and confident working across operational environments. You’ll be comfortable influencing others and driving high standards of safety and compliance.

Experience

  • Experience within operational environments (e.g., Energy Ops, Customer Ops, or CMO)
  • Experience in compliance, assurance, or safety-related roles

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SHE legislation and compliance requirements
  • Relevant safety or technical qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH desirable; SHEA Gas essential)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities
