Compliance Officer - Policy

North Yorkshire - Hybrid (3 days office)

Be the regulatory expert that shapes policy, not just applies it.

We're supporting a leading financial services organisation looking to appoint an experienced Compliance Officer (Policy) to join its second line Compliance function.

This is a specialist role for someone with deep Wealth, Investments and Financial Planning expertise who enjoys interpreting regulation, influencing business decisions and translating complex FCA requirements into practical, commercial guidance.

Rather than traditional monitoring or assurance work, you'll become the subject matter expert on regulatory developments, advising senior stakeholders and helping shape the firm's response to an evolving regulatory landscape.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and interpreting new FCA consultation papers, policy statements, guidance and regulatory developments.
  • Assessing the impact of regulatory change across Wealth, Investments and Financial Planning businesses.
  • Producing clear policy papers, technical briefings and regulatory guidance for senior stakeholders.
  • Providing expert second line advice and constructive challenge on complex regulatory matters.
  • Supporting the implementation of regulatory change across the business.
  • Acting as the go-to SME for Conduct of Business requirements and customer outcome-focused regulation.
  • Building strong relationships with business leaders, helping them understand regulatory expectations and develop compliant solutions.
  • Working closely with industry bodies and external stakeholders where appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
