The Role: Compliance Officer
Join our team as a dedicated Compliance Officer! This role ensures Bradford-Swissport Limited (BSL) meets all Health & Safety (H&S), Aviation Security (AVSEC), legal, and contractual obligations. You’ll work with the Health and Safety and Compliance Manager, the relevant authorities, and stakeholders to uphold operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
As the subject matter expert (SME) in Security, Safety, and Facilities, your role will include:
- Maintaining and quality-assuring compliance with ISO 45001 (Safety) and CAA (Security Management Systems) as directed by leadership.
- Providing proactive compliance leadership—embodying our company values through actions and decision-making.
- Supporting facility maintenance and contractor planning to adhere to legal and contractual standards.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for contractors, including issuing Permit-to-Work (PTWs) and Preventative Proper Maintenance (PPMs).
- Conducting weekly and monthly critical checks on facility operations and ensuring thorough documentation is maintained.
- Assisting with compliance training aligned with the Quality Guidance Manual.
- Managing Internal Quality Assurance (QA) and Training Administration, touching on all aspects enshrined in documentation.
- Maintaining legal, contractual, and operational records to stay compliant.
- Handling reference checks, criminal records stampings, and applications for airside access, permits, and proficiencies (e.g., CRC, CTC, GSAT).
- Deputising the Health and Safety & Compliance Manager in all scenarios, including:
- Customer-facing attendance
- Incident management
- Auditing and regulatory inspections
- Health & Safety and Compliance duties (absences or overflow)
- Performing all other business-critical compliance tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Essentials
To excel in this role, you’ll need the following:

✔ Airport Security Manager (Level 3) (Essential if designated as a Security SME) ✔ IOSH Managing Safely (Essential if designated as a Safety SME) ✔ DNXCT (Dominica National Security Certificate) (Essential for airside capability) ✔ RFX Instructor (Essential if designated as a Security SME) ✔ DFT Accredited Threat Assessor (Essential) ⚡ Nebosh General Certificate (Desirable, advantages Safety SME role) ⚡ Recognised Training Qualification (e.g., TAP) (Desirable)
