Legal & Compliance Opportunity: Compliance Officer (EMEIA) for ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions

About the Role: Compliance Officer EMEIA

The Divisional Compliance Officer will report to the ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Vice-President & General Counsel EMEIA. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and implementing compliance matters across the division, including:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance programs across the full EMEIA Division, including:
    • Anti-corruption
    • Anti-trust policies
    • Export control and trade sanctions compliance
  • Act as a key member of the Legal & Compliance function, supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of Group-wide compliance programs.
  • Identify, manage, and resolve compliance risks while providing strategic advice on compliance matters.
  • Design, develop, and improve EMEIA’s compliance programs, keeping abreast of relevant regulatory developments.
  • Drive compliance awareness and adoption through regular training sessions and communication initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance processes, procedures, and policy implementation, reporting findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the M&A Team and external advisors for pre-acquisition due diligence and post-integration compliance assessments.
  • Lead investigations into compliance breaches and anti-corruption concerns in conjunction with Internal Audit and external partners.
  • Report findings to the Group’s Code of Conduct Committee and engage with regulators as necessary.

Skills & Experience

We’re seeking a compliance professional with the following qualifications:

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Education: Degree-level qualification in a legal or related field (preferably legal training/experience).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar compliance role, experience in internal audit or internal controls considered an advantage.
  • Sector experience: Experience within Manufacturing/Engineering in an international environment is highly desirable.
  • Technical proficiency: Skilled in MS Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to influence and build trust across the organization.
  • Decision mastery: Ability to work under pressure, make effective decisions, and deliver results with limited supervision.
  • Project agility: Flexibility to manage multiple priorities, navigate challenges, and travel occasionally (regional/international).
