About the department

Global Compliance is a global team of more than 100 professionals who help Franklin Templeton manage compliance risk and maintain adherence to applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and codes of conduct. The team partners closely with business, risk, legal, and audit functions to protect the firm’s reputation and support its long-term success.

As a Compliance Officer, you will support UK compliance activities while working across multiple business lines and jurisdictions in a collaborative, international environment that offers exposure to complex regulatory and business challenges.

How you will add value

  • Provide compliance advisory support to business teams and senior management.
  • Maintain the compliance framework for UK entities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
  • Prepare regulatory impact assessments and business guidance.
  • Develop management information for boards and governance committees.
  • Partner with Legal and Internal Audit on control matters.
  • Support regulatory implementation projects.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management, Fund Accounting, Legal, Sales, and Product teams.
  • Contribute to international compliance initiatives.

What will help you be successful in this role

Experience, Education & Certifications

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Compliance experience within asset management.
  • Experience working within the UK regulatory environment.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of UK investment management regulations.
  • Knowledge of Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS).
  • Knowledge of Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD).
  • Knowledge of Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).
  • Understanding of operational resilience, reporting, and outsourcing regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
