About The Role
We are looking for an ambitious individual who thrives working in a dynamically changing international environment to join us as a Compliance Officer for our P&C and L&H reinsurance business across EMEA, with a specific focus on the United Kingdom. The role includes acting as SMF 16 ensuring adherence to applicable UK regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
The role reflects a broad and hands-on compliance remit, with responsibilities spanning regulatory oversight, advisory, governance, and project work. Typical activities include:
Acting as the FCA-approved SMF16 Compliance Officer for the UK entity, with accountability under the SMCR framework, including Fitness & Propriety, Conduct Rules, and senior manager engagement Leading and continuously enhancing the compliance framework aligned with relevant external and internal requirements and manage Providing trusted advisory support on key compliance risks including conduct risk, financial crime, and data protection across Reinsurance within EMEA Monitoring and assessing regulatory developments in the UK and EMEA and managing regulatory relationships, including regulatory consultations, filings, and supervisory interactions Provide assurance to management regarding the business' implementation of Compliance Risk Frameworks through oversight of business activities and support of assurance activities. Delivering compliance reporting, including contributing to the Group Board reporting and local committee engagement and supporting governance and senior leadership Performing Compliance Risk Assessments and delivering training Collaborating with global compliance teams and contributing to broader EMEA and global compliance strategy and transformation initiatives
About The Team
This is an exciting opportunity to be a crucial member of the P&C & L&H Reinsurance EMEA Compliance team, as part of a global team. You will report to the Head Compliance P&C & L&H Reinsurance EMEA. The team is internal business client facing with an international footprint and diversity of team members. We provide end-to-end guidance on key Compliance Risks including Anti-Money Laundering, International Trade Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Data Protection, Conduct Risk, and others. Our clients are diverse and are committed to delivering value and innovative services and products in a compliant manner. We are a diverse team based in Zurich, Munich, Cape Town, Luxemburg, Bratislava and London.

About You
You are an experienced Legal, Compliance or Risk professional with experience in carrying out regulatory monitoring activities. You believe in leadership from every seat and will be able to demonstrate that in your day-to-day endeavors. Attention to detail is key, and your ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels is critical to success in this role.
We Would Like You To Have
University degree or equivalent qualification Solid experience in compliance, risk or governance related roles with experience in the UK market Good understanding of (re)-insurance regulatory requirements Solid understanding of compliance risks, particularly anti-money laundering, international trade controls, conduct and data protection Ability to take ownership and prioritise and work in a dynamic and changing matrix environment Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Fluent in English, other languages a plus.

Compensation & Work Model
The base salary range for this position is between 76,000 GBP and 114,000 GBP (full time equivalent). The specific salary offered considers:
