About Selina

At Selina Finance, our mission is to provide exceptional value with simple and flexible financial products. We’re achieving this by building a next-generation digital lender targeting homeowners across the UK. More than £2tn of equity value is locked up in UK homes, while homeowners still need to rely on high-interest-rate consumer loans, credit cards, or overdrafts. We believe this is unfair and unnecessary. We offer a financing product unlike anything else out there, one that is as flexible as a current account, as affordable as a mortgage, and as easy to apply for as a consumer loan.

We are building an incredible team and culture of high performance, development, reward and recognition, ready for the next phase of our adventure, and this is where you come in!

We have quite a few things to be proud of: 🌏 We have 19 different nationalities across our London + Manchester offices
🏆 Voted as ‘one of the fastest-growing businesses in the UK’ by Business Leader Growth 500 for 2025
🏆 Voted top 30 of ‘Tempos 100 best start-ups to work for 2023’

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, pragmatic Compliance Risk Lead to strengthen and scale Selina’s compliance and risk framework. As an FCA-regulated digital lender, compliance sits at the heart of everything we do, and this role gives you genuine ownership of it; you’ll shape our second line of defence, build out our compliance monitoring programme, and act as a trusted adviser to teams across the business.

This is a broad, hands-on role in a fast-growing fintech. One day you might be drafting a policy or reviewing a financial promotion; the next you’ll be horizon scanning for regulatory change, running due diligence on a new partner, or advising Product on a new customer journey. You’ll work closely with our existing Compliance function and senior leadership, with real scope to define how compliance and risk management operate as we scale.

Crucially, this role goes beyond maintaining what exists today. It requires someone motivated to build out and embed a stronger risk and oversight framework across the business.

What you’ll be working on

  • Own and deliver our Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP), building out second-line oversight across the business, including complaints monitoring and quality assurance across underwriting, customer service and broker due diligence
  • Lead horizon scanning for regulatory change, assessing the impact of new FCA rules and guidance and translating them into practical action across the business
  • Own the policy framework: reviewing, drafting and gaining approval for policies, and keeping our compliance handbook up to date as processes change
  • Develop and maintain the risk register and risk matrix: reviewing existing risks, identifying new ones, and driving mitigating actions with owners across the business
  • Run onboarding and annual due diligence on suppliers, technology providers and partners, and strengthen our third-party oversight, including broker quality and Introducer Appointed Representative oversight
  • Review and approve financial promotions, providing compliance sign-off and advising on product journeys, website content and partner materials
  • Support fraud referrals, investigations and external reporting, and contribute to the handling and monitoring of FOS complaints
  • Deliver compliance training across the business, creating engaging material on topics such as fraud and vulnerable customers
  • Partner with Product, Growth, Legal and Credit on new commercial ventures, proactively researching the regulatory landscape at project inception to ensure compliant scoping from day one

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
