Summary
Are you ready to play a vital role in ensuring our communities have access to safe, clean water? We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Compliance Sampler in Water Quality. This is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to make a tangible impact by ensuring our water supply meets the highest regulatory and quality standards. We are building the water company that everyone wants to be supplied by and work for, and you can be a key part of that mission.
As a Compliance Sampler, you will take the lead in collecting water samples from a diverse range of environments, including reservoirs, treatment plants, and customer properties. While previous experience is not required, we are looking for someone who is well-organized, takes initiative, and approaches every task with determination.
This field-based role offers the freedom to work outdoors and the responsibility of managing your own performance. You will be comfortable driving long distances, interacting with customers to explain your work, and maintaining meticulous records. Precision is crucial here, as you’ll ensure that every sample, test, and piece of paperwork is handled exactly to standard. We provide a company vehicle to support you in your work.
This position is a part-time role, working an average of 22.5 hours per week. Your schedule will include shifts every other weekend—specifically Saturday and Sunday—plus two additional days per week (ideally Tuesday and Thursday, though this is flexible). On your weekend shifts, you will work 7.5 hours per day, typically starting between 6:30 and 7:00 am and finishing by 3:00 pm, including delivering samples to our lab in Farnborough.
If you are looking for an engaging, field-based career where you can work independently while making a real difference, we want to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
