About the Role
Position Summary
The successful candidate will operate as an independent, multi-skilled, adaptable Composite Laminator, working primarily with pre-preg carbon fibre. Duties include:
- Kitting
- Lay-up
- Bagging
- Debagging high precision composite components, adhering to complex engineering drawings and mould specifications.

Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Execute tool preparation:
- Clean surfaces
- Apply release agents
- Conduct kit and lay-up operations:
- Cut materials for the build sequence
- Handle warp and weft layers
- Position materials with correct orientation and sequence on mould surfaces
- Master vacuum bagging techniques:
- Manufacture required breather bag material kits
- Manage cure operations using:
- Autoclaves
- Ovens
- Vacuum pumps
- Strict adherence to engineering methods and processes
- Ensure compliance with Quality procedures, maintaining defined processes and standards
- Conduct operations adhering to Parker Meggitt standards and Health & Safety Regulations
- Attend shift meetings to:
- Understand team targets
- Address key issue and problems
- Receive communications (visits, health & safety updates, etc.)
- Detect and promptly escalate issues to team leaders
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
Minimum qualifications and capabilities:
- 2+ years of experience as a Composites Laminator
- Familiarity with Shelf Life of Materials (advantageous)
- Industry experience in Aerospace or high-technology industries (preferred)
- Focused and committed individual, capable of working with minimal supervision
- Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Problem-solving mindset and creative, out-of-the-box thinking
