About the Role
On behalf of our client, a leading UK independent MRO, specialising in Boeing and Airbus families, we are recruiting for a Composite Technician to oversee and perform all maintenance activities, both scheduled and unscheduled. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and excellence in aviation services and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out maintenance of aircraft as defined by our customers’ requirements/List of Work.
- Carrying out repairs to composite airframe structure as per SRM.
- Maintaining the upkeep of the composite room and equipment and keeping all necessary records up to date including the composite procedures.
- Working in accordance with Company procedures giving due consideration to Human Factors philosophy, using only correctly maintained and uniquely identified personal tooling, Company tooling and calibrated test equipment.
- Managing internal and external relationships with Customers, team members and Support departments and taking an active role to mentor colleagues.
- Ensuring correct completion of all maintenance paperwork and forms in a timely manner before the end of the shift and in accordance with all aspects of the MOE Part 2 and procedures.
- Informing Engineers of any adverse issues affecting safety, productivity and progression of work.
- Ensuring any unused material is correctly processed and returned to Stores when practicable and following correct disposal instructions at all times.
- Ensuring correct storage of aircraft components and tooling including blanking, labelling and protection in accordance with Company procedures.
- Maintaining standard engineering practices regarding general husbandry, workplace cleanliness and FOD prevention measures.
- Recommending improvements in working conditions, practices and procedures that may result in an improvement in safety, efficiency and productivity.
- Assisting with hangar facility maintenance and general tasks.
- Any other tasks and duties as reasonably required in accordance with the needs of the business

Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Proven track record, typically achieved with 5 years minimum experience in aviation maintenance (including time served during an apprenticeship) within a Part 145 organisation.
- Evidence of recency on composite repairs within the last two years.
- Ability to read and understand engineering repair drawings.
- Ability to use recognised aircraft documentation, including the Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives
- Demonstrates a broad skill-set in maintaining aircraft systems.
- Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of aircraft composite repairs.
- Good structural knowledge including ability to carry out structural repairs.
- Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in aviation or mechanical engineering.
- Composite Training records and Approved Training Certificates.
