Composites Fitter – Production Team Position

Position Summary

A Composites Fitter role exists in our Production Team for a multi-skilled, adaptive individual capable of meeting maximum efficiency and effectiveness in composites and metallics manufacturing. Responsibilities include:

  • Setting structures in trim and assembly jigs
  • Drilling/reaming/countersinking in panels using Vanmar tools
  • Fettling with appropriate tools
  • Mixing and applying adhesives/sealants
  • Percussion riveting
  • Metal finish touch-up in localized aluminium areas

Responsibilities

  • Ensure "right first time" production (zero defects).
  • Complete tasks on schedule, adhering to Methods of Manufacture, Job Cards, and Single Point (time-keeping) system.
  • Verify the precision of calibrated equipment and validate its validity dates.
  • Report non-conformance issues to the Process Team Leader.
  • Compliance with Meggitt Methods of Manufacture, Quality Procedures, and all Health & Safety regulations.
  • Document and address incidents, accidents, and near misses per company procedure.
  • Maintain spotless work area standards.

Requirements

  • A recognised apprenticeship with demonstrable industry experience in aircraft composites manufacturing.
  • Technical training in following production methods (MoM) without supervision.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small teams.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles; commitment to costimprovement initiatives.
  • A self-motivated team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
