Computational Biologist & Co-Founder

Remote – Voluntary Computational Biologist & Structural Virology Researcher

(Pre-Seed / Pre-Startup, Co-founder Role) Location: Remote Area: Computational Biology / Structural Virology Company: Norvara

About the Role

This is a remote, voluntary co-founder opportunity for a Computational Biologist/Structural Virologist focused on designing and optimizing next-generation AAV capsid variants to address critical challenges in gene therapy.

You’ll leverage advanced computational architectures, deep learning, and structural biology expertise to:

  • Translate vast evolutionary datasets into predictive models
  • Engineer optimized capsid designs evading immunogenicity and improving tissue specificity
  • Collaborate interdisciplinary teams bypassing traditional lab constraints
  • Accelerate R&D from physical screening → in silico design

This role offers hands-on experience at the frontier of machine learning and structural biology within a highly academic, meritocratic startup setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural Engineering
    • Develop AAV capsid variants using AI-driven predictions of specific structural folds
    • Apply advanced computational methods to test and refine candidate designs

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Norvara

Founded by [Dr. CCX] ([GWU/CNLS Course Hoover, Ph.D. UCL), Norvara's mission is to redefine AAV capsid engineering using machine learning acceleration.

Our next-generation AAV constructs are designed for: ✅ Unprecedented site-specific delivery ✅ Thermostabilized production (simplifying delivery and versatility) ✅ Immunity-evasion (avoiding neutralizing antibodies)

With roots in academic excellence and outcomes in high-value gene therapy, Norvara is structured as Prof. CCX's group combined in lab partnership "with equity vested over five years." Each co-founder engages distinct domains (genetic, biochemical, bioinformatistics).
