Computer Engineering - AI Data Trainer

Location: Remote

Organization: Alignerr

Position: Computer Engineering - AI Data Trainer

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $35–$60/hour

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week


About The Role

At Alignerr, we partner with the world’s leading AI research teams and labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models.

You’ll challenge advanced language models on topics like computer architecture and hardware design, embedded systems and IoT, networking and distributed systems, hardware security, and systems software and operating systems—documenting every failure mode so we can harden model reasoning.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop complex problems: Design advanced computer engineering challenges across domains such as:

    • RISC-V/ARM architecture
    • FPGA development
    • Memory management
    • Hardware-software co-design
  • Author ground-truth solutions: Create rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions, including:

    • Assembly code
    • Hardware description language (HDL) snippets
    • Architectural diagrams (serving as “golden responses” for AI training)

  • Conduct technical auditing: Evaluate AI-generated content for:

    • C/C++ and Verilog/VHDL code correctness
    • Logic gate designs
    • Operating system kernels
    • Technical accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards
  • Refine reasoning metrics: Identify and expose gaps in AI reasoning, such as:

    • Race conditions
    • Memory leaks
    • Improper timing constraints
    • Pathophysiology flaws

Requirements

Essential

✅ Advanced degree in Computer Engineering (or Computer Science with a hardware focus), or related field (PhD or pursuing Master’s) ✅ Domain expertise, with a strong foundation in:

  • Computer Architecture
  • Embedded Systems
  • Digital Logic Design
  • Operating Systems ✅ Analytical writing skills: Ability to describe technical concepts clearly in written form ✅ Precision-oriented mindset: Pay meticulous attention to detail—especially for bit-level operations, clock-cycles, and technical documentation

  • Prior involvement in data annotation, quality/evaluation frameworks
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., SolidWorks CAD, MATLAB, ANSYS)
