Our customers operate across sectors including medical, optical, scientific instrumentation where precision, quality and reliability are essential.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer role is based in Cambridge. The CNC Programmer will create and optimize CNC programs for milling and machining operations, ensuring parts meet specification, quality, and efficiency requirements. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting technical drawings, selecting tools and cutting parameters, setting up CNC machines, and performing test runs and adjustments.

  • Ability to interpret and apply Technical Drawing skills for precise component manufacture
  • Ability to set and Operate 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC machines
  • Strong CNC Programming and general Programming skills for developing and optimizing machine code
  • Hands-on experience with Machining and Milling operations on CNC equipment
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and commitment to quality and safety
  • Experience with CNC controls (e.g., Heidenhain, Siemens, or similar) and familiarity with CAM software (Hypermill, FeatureCAM beneficial)
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on the shop floor
