CNC Programmer / Operator
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Mazak CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in precision machining, aiming to contribute to our production efficiency and product excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CNC programmes, with a focus on Mazak machines.
- Set up CNC machines, including installing tooling and fixtures, ensuring precise alignment and calibration.
- Operate Mazak CNC Machining Centres (3, 4 & 5-axis) to produce components according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts for quality assurance, utilising basic maths for measurements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of programmes, setups, and production runs.
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimise downtime and optimise productivity.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment safely and effectively during setup and maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with design teams using SolidWorks software to interpret technical drawings.

Essential Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC programming and operation.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes.
- Proficiency in reading 3D drawings in SolidEdge (advantageous).
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment for setup and maintenance.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and tolerances verification.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
