Computer Science Teacher - Wimbledon

Computer Science Teacher (1-Year Fixed-Term Contract) – Outstanding Secondary School | South West London

Quantum Scholars partners with an Outstanding all-girls secondary school in South West London to recruit an inspired and dedicated Computer Science Teacher for a 1-year fixed-term contract, starting in September 2026.

The Role

As the Computer Science Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Computer Science across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Deliver innovative, student-centric lessons planning for programming, algorithms, computational thinking, data representation, and digital literacy
  • Have the flexibility to teach A-Level Computer Science (subject to experience and interest)
  • Work collaboratively within a high-performing department, contributing to delivering outstanding academic results
  • Empower students with the skills to nurture confidence, curiosity, and lifelong passion for technology

Requirements for the Role

Experience & Qualifications

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Demonstrate proven experience teaching Computer Science across KS3 and KS4 preferred
  • Strong command of core programming languages, algorithms, and computational thinking
  • Passion for engaging, challenging, and inclusive teaching methods
  • Dedicated to ensuring all students reach their full cognitive potential

Key Responsibilities

  • Lesson Planning & Delivery: Create and implement rich, standards-focused Computer Science lessons
  • Curriculum Support: Engage in year group / department coaching to sustain high-quality teaching
  • Feedback Loop: Monitor and respond to student progress with clear, constructively challenging guidance
  • Department Collaboration: Work with colleagues to enhance the Computer Science curriculum
  • Extracurricular Participation: Lead coding clubs, STEM societies, and other festive tech-focused events
  • Professional Compliance: Uphold safeguarding policies and remain committed to the school’s high ethical standards in education
