Flexzo Teach connects educational professionals with premier tutoring opportunities. We are currently seeking an inspiring, qualified Computer Science Tutor to join our talent pool for a dynamic role based at our dedicated tuition centre in Slough.

About the Setting

This setting is a vibrant, modern tuition academy providing high-quality academic support for students aged 8–18. Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Slough as well as a global online platform, the academy helps primary and secondary pupils build coding confidence, master algorithmic thinking, and achieve outstanding exam results.

While the academy has a strong reputation across all core subjects, Computer Science is a rapidly growing and highly sought-after discipline. They specialize in early programming concepts, GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level tuition, delivering structured, engaging lessons that empower local and international learners alike to thrive in a digital world.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Computer Science Tutor, you will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to different learning styles. This role is primarily focused on in-person delivery at our Slough centre, with opportunities for online/hybrid teaching.

  • Teach Computer Science theory and practical programming across key stages, including GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level.
  • Explain advanced topics such as algorithms, data structures, computer systems, networks, and cybersecurity clearly and enthusiastically.
  • Guide students through practical coding languages (ideally Python, Java, or C#) and help them master debugging and software design.
  • Adapt your teaching methods to suit individual learning paces, helping students build critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for major UK exams (AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, etc.), including support for A-Level Non-Exam Assessment (NEA) programming projects.

What You’ll Need

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent recognized professional teaching qualification (ideally specializing in Computer Science, ICT, or STEM Education). Candidates with a strong Computer Science degree and extensive tutoring experience will also be considered.
  • Deep knowledge of the UK Computer Science curriculum up to A-Level.
  • Ability to travel regularly to the dedicated tuition centre in the Slough area for face-to-face sessions.
  • A minimum of one year of formal teaching or tutoring experience.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate (or a willingness to obtain one before onboarding).

Desirable:

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Education.
  • Direct experience guiding students through the A-Level NEA (independent programming project).
  • Familiarity with specific exam boards for GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level Computer Science.
