Chetham’s School of Music
Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Concerts Administrator to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.
The Job
The role is part time, with standard baseline hours of 21 hours per week for 41 weeks per year (comprising of 36 weeks term-time, 5 weeks non-term-time), plus additional working hours, payable via timesheet, anticipated as:
- Increased hours up to full-time for 6 weeks during 6 x ‘Music Course’ / prep weeks in October, February and June/July
- Plus 20 x Saturday shifts (c. 0830 – 1330 term-time only)
Non-term-time working can be done with greater flexibility dependant on individual and business needs.

This role supports the delivery of the students’ regular concerts, large rehearsals and performance opportunities. During term-time working hours should, in the majority, fall within a standard school working day (0830 – 1630), plus the regular Saturday morning shifts (20 Saturday mornings per year). However, flexibility to work outside of these hours is essential (including evenings and some unsociable hours – particularly during ‘Music Course’ weeks and other student performances as required).
Start date: 1 September 2026 (subject to recruitment checks).
Permanent role.
In return
You will be paid £14,053.08 (FTE £26,817.65) – £15,242.16 (FTE £29,086.77) per annum, Scale Points 15 – 17. Benefits including subsidised catered lunches during term-time and free tickets to selected concerts.
