Position Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Concrete Plant Operative to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will support the safe and efficient production of ready-mixed concrete, operating plant equipment and ensuring materials are produced to the required standards.
You will work as part of a team, following strict health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor concrete plant equipment to ensure efficient production
- Carry out digging out and cleaning of the mixer and plant areas as required
- Receive, check, and manage raw materials such as aggregates, cement, and additives
- Carry out routine plant checks and basic maintenance tasks
- Ensure concrete mixes meet required specifications and quality standards
- Load and dispatch ready-mixed concrete safely and accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment, including housekeeping of mixer and surrounding areas
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and site rules
- Report faults, defects, or safety concerns promptly to supervisors

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience in a concrete plant, quarry, construction, or similar industrial environment (preferred)
- Basic understanding of health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Ability to operate or willingness to learn plant and machinery operations
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
- Ability to carry out physically demanding work, including manual handling and cleaning tasks
- Basic mechanical awareness for routine checks and minor maintenance
- Reliability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic
