Plant Supervisor
Salary: £31,000 per annum
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and safety-focused Plant Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation of our concrete batching plant. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant running of the site while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high operational standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in batching and dispatching concrete, supervising contractors and hauliers, carrying out routine maintenance checks and ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety and Environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the batching plant safely and efficiently in line with company procedures
- Batch and dispatch concrete/mortar accurately to meet customer requirements
- Liaise with the Order Office to ensure production schedules and customer demands are met
- Receive customer enquiries and orders in a professional and courteous manner
- Ensure plant, buildings and associated areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition
- Carry out routine maintenance inspections and report/record defects or required actions
- Supervise contractors, hauliers and visitors to ensure compliance with site safety procedures
- Monitor stock levels and ensure sufficient approved materials are always available
- Conduct weekly visual stock checks and monthly stock verification
- Ensure all waste disposal, water discharge and dust emissions comply with environmental procedures
- Maintain compliance with company policies relating to Health & Safety, quality control, environmental standards and fraud prevention
- Continuously review plant performance and working methods to improve efficiency and productivity
- Maintain site security at all times
- Escalate issues outside the scope of authority to the Operations Manager
- Undertake any additional duties required to support the business

About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working within a plant, manufacturing, construction or production environment
- Be confident using computer-based batching and dispatch systems
- Have strong awareness of Health & Safety and environmental procedures
- Be organised with good attention to detail
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate a proactive and problem-solving approach
- Hold a full UK driving licence (preferred)
