Conference & Events Manager, Leicestershire

Are you an experienced Conference & Events professional with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and leading high performing teams?

Our client, well-established provider of conference, event and hospitality spaces is looking for an experienced Conference & Events Manager to lead their Sales Coordination team.

As Conference & Events Manager, you will lead the Sales Coordination Team to deliver outstanding service across all conference and event activity. You'll play a key role in achieving commercial targets, optimising venue utilisation and ensuring every client receives a professional, seamless experience.

Working closely with the Head of Revenue, you will be the link between the commercial and operational teams, ensuring events are planned, communicated, and delivered seamlessly from enquiry through to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of Sales Coordinators, creating a positive, customer focused culture.
  • Monitor enquiry handling, ensuring all responses are accurate, timely and delivered to the highest standard.
  • Drive sales performance by improving enquiry conversion, occupancy and revenue opportunities.
  • Analyse performance data to identify trends and implement improvements that enhance customer experience and commercial results.
  • Conduct regular one to one meetings, coaching sessions and performance reviews to support team development.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Manage team resources to ensure workloads are balanced and service levels remain high.
  • Chair weekly event planning meetings, ensuring operational teams are fully briefed on upcoming functions and client requirements.
  • Work alongside senior stakeholders to optimise venue utilisation and maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure accurate invoicing and financial processes are followed.
  • Support high value and complex event enquiries, including client meetings, venue tours and event planning for key accounts.

Who They’re Looking For:

  • At least three years' experience within conferences, events, commercial venues, or a similar customer focused environment.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching and developing a successful team.
  • A commercially minded approach with experience working towards sales, conversion, or revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Confidence analysing performance data and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent administration and IT skills.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
