I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Venues
- Add-on services (technical, AV, catering)
- Branding materials (banners, signage, brochures)
✔ Negotiation & contract integrity: Secure value while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality. ✔ Proactive budget tracking: Anticipate changes, flag issues early, and align with executives. ✔ Forge accountabilities: Build equity with suppliers—escalate conflicts and spot opportunities for service upgrades.
Event Execution: Performance & Satisfaction
✔ Sponsored VIP flare: Design & devise events (dinners, lunches, after-hours activities). ✔ Logistics leverage: Partner with venues to ensure micro-details (exhibitors, technical prep) are locked. ✔ On-site crisis heroism: Don a “backstage charger” persona—resolve issues swiftly during real-time execution.

- Curiosity + warmth: Adore discussions; thrive on relationship-building (indoor CRT campaigns may be in your future).
- UK Work Rights: This role steers private equity’s European tenant, so permits are essential.
Competency Essentials
- Obsessive attention to detail: See the entire audience queue as one unit.
- Urban project management: Balance deadlines also under ambivalent deadlines with clients who don’t know the difference.
