Brunel University of London is seeking a commercially focused and proactive Commercial Conference Manager to lead and develop its Conference Services function.
This is a key role within Commercial Services, responsible for growing income, improving enquiry conversion, strengthening client relationships and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality conference, event, language school and residential activity across campus.

Description Of Department
Commercial Services manages customer-facing, income-generating activity across the University. Conference Services maximises the use of Brunel’s campus, facilities and accommodation through conferences, events, residential programmes, summer schools and language schools, working collaboratively across the University to deliver activity safely and professionally.

About The Role
Brunel University of London is seeking a commercially focused and proactive Commercial Conference Manager to lead and develop its Conference Services function.
This is a key role within Commercial Services, responsible for growing income, improving enquiry conversion, strengthening client relationships and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality conference, event, language school and residential activity across campus.
The successful candidate will lead the Conference Services team, develop a practical business plan and deliver a focused sales strategy across both internal and external markets. You will ensure that enquiries are actively managed through the pipeline, that quotes and proposals are progressed effectively, and that confirmed bookings are supported by clear contracts, deposits and operational processes.
You will work closely with colleagues across Timetabling, Exams, Estates, Events, Accommodation, Catering, Sports, Colleges and wider University services to make best use of Brunel’s estate while balancing teaching, exams, student experience and commercial activity.
About You
You will be a confident, commercially focused manager with experience in conferences, events, hospitality, sales or a similar environment. You will combine strong leadership and operational delivery with sound commercial judgement.

You will understand income targets, budgets, margins, pricing, sales pipelines and KPIs, using management information to improve performance.
An effective communicator and negotiator, you will build strong relationships, work collaboratively, manage competing priorities and maintain excellent customer service
Additional Information
This is a full-time role and will require flexibility, including occasional evening or weekend work to support events and business needs. The post holder will be expected to act as an ambassador for Brunel University of London and demonstrate professionalism, collaboration and a commitment to excellent service at all times.
