Conferences Planner – Part Time
The At Work Partnership is a well-respected independent training, publishing and research organisation specialising in the area of occupational health, running approximately 20 events per annum.
The Role
The conferences planner will work on developing, coordinating and ensuring the timely and successful delivery of our events portfolio. The At Work Partnership runs approximately 20 events a year, mainly online on Zoom, consisting of one-day workshops/conferences, three-day qualification courses, in-house training and an annual two-day residential conference (in Birmingham). A couple of one-day on-site events currently take place in Birmingham.
Working as part of a small team, and reporting to one of the company directors, the role will involve liaising with content developers for each event, assisting in developing courses/certificates, arranging venues, corresponding and liaising with speakers/tutors and students and, for the certificated courses, liaising with our academic partners and certifying bodies. The role involves working using Zoom and other similar online events software to run events and attending on-site events to ensure their smooth running.
Essential Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience of establishing and managing effective external working relationships
- Excellent administration skills, strong attention to detail and ability to deliver to strict timetables
- Ability to understand and utilise new technologies to enhance online events
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Enjoy working in a small team

Location
This is a hybrid role based in Barnet (plus on-site work at approximately 3 events a year, mainly in Birmingham). The role will be completely office based for the first two months. After this one day per week will be based at home and the remainder in the office. It is preferred, but not essential, for the successful candidate to be able to travel and stay overnight at 2–3 events a year. Although this is a part-time role, you will be required to attend our events, including virtual events, which may involve working extended paid hours on those days, either from the office or onsite.

Part-Time:
3.5 days per week (flexible working pattern, e.g. five shorter days or three and a half full days)
Salary:
£35,000–£42,000 pro-rata
Holiday:
25 days pro-rata

Your covering letter should include examples of at least two of following three areas:
- A time when you developed a new event/training day for your organisation (or when you have organised an event in your personal life, explaining the challenges and what was achieved. Examples of face-to-face or online events are both valid.
- An example of a time when attention to detail has been important in your work.
- A time when you have personally added value to an existing work system or training event.
