Confidential Opportunity – Finance Director / Financial Controller | Private Investment Group

Private Investment Group (Entrepreneur-Led) Predominantly Remote | UK-Based

We are supporting a founder-led private investment group with a strong track record of acquiring and scaling SMEs, in the search for a commercially minded Finance Director / Financial Controller.

This is a hands-on, high-trust role working directly with the founder, offering broad exposure across both the investment vehicle and (over time) its portfolio companies.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of the finance function at group level, acting as a key partner to the founder on both financial management and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the financial function and group cash management of the investment company.
  • Responsibility for all financial matters including oversight of all financial records, including VAT returns, annual financial statements etc.
  • Supporting selected personal financial matters for the founder where required.
  • Company secretary and director responsibilities.
  • Potential to expand into oversight of the investee companies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
