Configuration Operator I Neath

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Operator to join our team in Neath! This is a full-time, permanent role working on site.

Vidalert, part of Marston Holdings, are continually expanding, and part of our growth is our Technology side of the business where we have attained Videalert and Vortex. Together we are the UK’s leading supplier of intelligent traffic enforcement and management solutions and leading provider of smart city solutions that deliver the highest productivity at the lowest operational cost. We provide environmental sensors, networks, and data solutions to support decarbonisation efforts globally. We drive real environmental change by leveraging the power of real-time data with cleantech technologies.

What you will be doing:

  • You will be responsible for the assembly, configuration, and testing of edge computer devices for camera-based enforcement and air quality monitoring systems.
  • Following established guidelines and specific client requirements, the Configuration Operator ensures that each system functions optimally and meets the standards set by the company.
  • The role requires a strong troubleshooting acumen and attention to detail to promptly identify and rectify any issues during the configuration process.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble edge computer devices in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Configure edge computer devices based on specific client requirements, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance with standards
  • Ensure all components are correctly configured as per the survey provided
  • Promptly identify issues or anomalies in the configuration process
  • Utilise diagnostic tools and techniques to determine the root cause of problems

What we are looking for:

  • IT-related qualifications or working towards
  • Background in IT/Computer Science
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with computers and IT technology and its applications
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • A team player, who communicates well and collaborates across teams
  • Reliable and accountable, taking ownership of their work
  • Willing to learn and adapt, with an interest in developing technical knowledge and skills
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults in electrical and electronic equipment. (preferred but not essential)
